The Department of Law came into existence in the academic year 1967-68 offering LLB degree. From 1997 onwards the Department of Law was brought under Janbhagidari Samiti as a self-financing course. The department was headed by many eminent scholars. Presently it is headed by Dr. Ritu Trivedi, and the other faculties are Shri Rajkumar Sahu, Dr. Sanjay Mishra and Dr. Krishnavallabh Vishwakarma. Dr Sanjay Mishra is an alumnus of the department. Since LLB is a professional course, there is no dearth of students in the department. Presently the department has about 200 students studying law in first, second and third year. Over the years the department has been producing law graduates many of whom became advocates and are practising both in Shujalpur and at other places. Considering a long pending demand for opening PG course in law, the college has recently sent a proposal to the State government to start LLM from the academic year 2021-22.
