Microbiology as a self-financing optional subject for B. Sc. Biology group students was introduced in the academic year 2011-12. The subject started attracting a good number of students and now it has a strength of 144 students. Shri Anil Yadav is the faculty in the department. The administrative head of the department is Dr. Chhaya Deshmukh who is also the head of the department of Botany.
