The Department was started with the inception of the college in 1964. The subject of Political Science remains the most favored subject of all times for the arts students and as a result, the largest number of students of arts faculty in undergraduate courses choose the subject. Presently Dr. Kusum Jajoo, the senior most faculty in the college, is the head of the department, who is also the Principal-in-Charge. The department, however, does not run PG Course. Instead, it has started PG in Public Administration which is in great demand. Presently, Dr Deepshikha Saxena is the faculty teaching the subject.
